That's bound to be a factor, but I'd be surprised if the Scandinavian block-dominance were this dramatic or unified in music in general. Hmm, wonder where I can get world data on arts subsidies and unemployment rules?

Just curious, do you imagine these country rankings look similar for bands in general, and would this be a product of a stronger safety net/public arts investment? I'm under the impression that it's far easier to make a living as a musician in Sweden.
