Europe 2001 Photojournal
The primary reason for the enormous numbers of photographs taken of buildings and plants is, I strongly suspect, that they tend to hold still. This facade and fountain are in the center square in Antwerp. The figure in the fountain is the god Belgiax, who, according to legend, ran from Paris to Madrid while carrying a leaky container of Manna, thus sowing a large part of Western Europe and establishing the European practice of selling milk warm, in boxes.
