Interestingly, we're not yet at the point where this will work. The acoustic analysis works surprisingly well in conjuction with cultural information, but very erratically without it. I don't yet have a piece of software that can reliably identify the genre of a piece of unlabeled music for which there is a correct answer, never mind for a bird song.  

But I think we'll get there.

How about extending Every Noise at Once to bird song? Recent research indicates that multi-species bird communities cluster their songs. Data from the study is <a href="http://www.pnas.org/lookup/suppl/doi:10.1073/pnas.1314337111/-/DCSupplemental/sd01.xls">available here</a>.  

You could at least award a bird the distinguished honor of being "most metallic" (having song most similar to the most popular metal songs).
